Milan Design Week 2025: Flexform’s new indoor icons of quiet sophistication

This year’s Milan Design Week marked another remarkable chapter for Flexform, as the brand unveiled a series of thoughtful indoor novelties that reflect its unwavering commitment to understated elegance, material mastery, and long-term comfort. With a design language rooted in quiet luxury and architectural precision, the 2025 collection leans deeper into the emotional experience of living.

From visionary reinterpretations of archival pieces to entirely new seating systems, each product presented in Milan stood as a quiet revolution, confirming Flexform’s reputation as one of the few design houses that continues to evolve while staying impeccably true to its DNA.

Below, we explore some of the standout indoor novelties from the Flexform 2025 collection and what they signal about the future of contemporary interiors.

Loungescape: A new vision of modular freedom

At the heart of this year’s collection was Loungescape, a modular seating system designed by long-time Flexform collaborator Antonio Citterio. Inspired by the organic flow of natural landscapes, Loungescape challenges the conventional idea of the sofa – not as a rigid object, but as a flexible environment that adapts to the space around it.

Its sculptural silhouette, generous volumes, and low-slung elegance transform the living room into a place of interaction, pause, and repose. This sofa system is as versatile in function as it is beautiful in form. It seamlessly invites the user to create a distinctive design solution and reimagine the layout according to their needs, making it an essential piece for evolving interiors.

The Eri Collection: tailored sensibility

Flexform’s dedication to craftsmanship finds its expressive outlet in the new Eri Collection, designed by Fumie Shibata. Drawing inspiration from the soft curvature of jacket lapels, the design language is gentle, cocooning, and effortlessly refined. The Eri family includes armchairs, ottomans, and coffee tables, all united by their well-balanced proportions and enveloping forms.

Despite their soft aesthetic, these pieces have a strong architectural backbone—proportions are tight, construction is precise, and comfort is deeply considered. The upholstery, in both leather and fabric versions, appears as if tailored directly onto the frame, enhancing the sense of formality and relaxation.

With the Eri pieces, Flexform once again proves its mastery in creating furniture that feels both personal and elevated.

Ginger Sofa: a timeless design returns

Design history often reveals itself in waves, and in 2025, the Ginger Sofa returns with renewed relevance. Originally designed by Antonio Citterio in 1984, this piece was quietly groundbreaking in its time and still is.

Following last year’s re-edition of the Ginger chaise longue, Flexform continues the collection’s revival with a new version of the iconic sofa. With its pure lines, minimalist posture, and perfect proportions, the updated Ginger maintains its original spirit but speaks fluently to today’s interiors, which are increasingly drawn to everlasting, well-resolved forms.

Available in both leather and fabric upholstery, the Ginger sofa is a lesson in aesthetics, nostalgia and now.

Luchino Chair: folding elegance

The Luchino Chair, made entirely from solid hand-turned and finished wood, seat and backrest upholstered in rich cowhide, is offered in both dining and lounge versions; each with a distinct character yet connected by an elegant rhythm of materiality.

At first glance, Luchino’s silhouette hides its most distinctive feature: it folds. This clever detail brings a layer of flexibility rarely seen in such a refined design. It makes the chair ideal for compact interiors or secondary seating needs that require graceful storage.

Its construction is both artisanal and simple, with refined joints and exquisite wood details crafted in Canaletto walnut, ash, or oak. A perfect blend between elegance and practicality, the Luchino chair by Antonio Citterio is an object of undisputed functionality.

ENN: harmony made tangible

Named after the Japanese word “ENN”, which suggests notions of connection and harmony, this new table design from Flexform by Fumie Shibata is one where all the elements blend in perfect balance.

The form of ENN reflects its name, its circular tabletop and singular, cone-shaped base combined in an expression of unity. The base is clad entirely in cowhide, an unusual yet luxurious material for this function, making it not only a piece of furniture but a textural statement.

ENN is not simply a dining or center table; it’s a statement piece that speaks softly but with clarity.

Flexform’s 2025 indoor novelties are not trend-driven, they are time-driven. Each piece is the result of long contemplation, material research, and an unshakable belief in what makes design endure.

In a world where visual noise is increasingly dominant, Flexform continues to offer a quiet alternative: furniture that feels like it belongs – today, tomorrow, and always.
